Summary: This employee’s primary duties will be related to outpatient/ancillary admissions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Complete admissions by set procedures on patients requiring ancillary services including scanning documents into the Healthland System.

  • Obtain complete admission information on patient for outpatient surgery and process according to procedure.

  • Sort Inpatient and Outpatient charge tickets as received.

  • Discuss patient accounts at the admission desk or by phone. If unable to resolve forward patient to Billing department.

  • Receive payments on accounts and forward to the posting clerk.

  • Maintain surgery charts

  • Inpatient Admission duties as needed

  • Set up OP records and perform inpatient admission and outpatient duties on Saturdays.

  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 60 minute lunch period.

  • 8:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays when scheduled.

  • Breaks are allowed as the workload permits up to two 15 minute breaks per day.

Education and/or Experience                                                   

High school education or GED, or 3 months of related experience.

 

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and understand three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent.

 

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple step by step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

Must have computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 7 Professional.

Must be able to work without constant supervision.
